Chief Executive Officer

Joshua Hofheimer became CEO of Hexima in July 2008. Mr Hofheimer has extensive experience in the agricultural science and biotechnology sectors, in structuring and negotiating complex commercial transactions and joint ventures with both start-ups and global industry leaders.

Mr Hofheimer’s previous role was Partner at Sidley Austin LLP, a Los Angeles based international law firm. For the past 7 years, he specialised in the plant biotechnology sector, including developing and implementing business strategies for commercialisation of multiple intellectual property platforms. He also served as a leader in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Commercial Transactions Practice.

Mr Hofheimer has been a member of several boards, including the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation at UCLA and the Zimmer Children’s Museum, and is active in charitable foundations such as the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women’s Cancers.

Marilyn A Anderson

Chief Science Officer

Professor Marilyn Anderson is one of Hexima’s founding scientists and now heads Hexima’s Research & Discovery team located within the Department of Biochemistry at La Trobe University. Professor Anderson leads a team with strengths in biochemistry, enzymology and cell and molecular biology and discovered the insecticidal and antifungal molecules that are key to Hexima’s ongoing technology development and discovery. Professor Anderson chairs the Management Committee which oversees the antifungal program with DuPont.

Professor Anderson has held board positions with South East Water Limited and Hexima Limited and is currently a member of the board of directors of City West Water Limited.

Robyn L Heath

Senior Vice President Product Development

Dr Robyn Heath is one of Hexima’s founding scientists and now leads Hexima’s Product Development Team within the School of Botany at The University of Melbourne. Dr Heath established Hexima’s cotton transformation capability and organised and delivered Hexima’s first field trials. She is currently leading programs to introduce Hexima’s proprietary genes into corn, cotton and canola and is leading the Dow Collaboration project. As part of the collaboration with DuPont she is building the team’s capabilities in corn transformation as well as evaluation of plants for resistance to the major corn pathogens.

Dr Heath has extensive research and management experience in both Government and university laboratories. She was previously a Director of Hexima Limited.

Justine Heath

Justine Heath

Chief Operating Officer

Justine Heath was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in February 2010 after joining Hexima in September 2007 as Chief Financial Officer. Justine was appointed Company Secretary in December 2007. She is a Chartered Accountant with broad experience across a range of industries. She was a manager at Price Waterhouse and has since held senior finance roles with F H Faulding & Co Limited, a top 100 listed healthcare and pharmaceutical company with operations in some 70 countries, oil and gas major Santos Limited and Indophil Resources NL.

Vice President Commercial

Elisha joined Hexima in May 2006, focusing initially on the Company’s Initial Public Offering, which was completed in August 2007. Elisha now works with the CEO on business strategy and on collaborations with local and international commercial partners. Prior to joining Hexima, Elisha worked as a market analyst with Landmark, the agricultural inputs subsidiary of agribusiness AWB Limited.
